He’s Alive!

“5 But the angel answered and said to the women,                                                       “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.                     6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said.”

– Matthew 28:5-6

Some people may think …

“I want to spend eternity with God, but I’m also having a lot of fun doing what I want for now; so, I will do my thing and then, when I am old … I will repent and ask the Lord to forgive me so I can still go to heaven when I die.”

We all have our own way of responding to God’s Grace, but I would like to offer my thoughts on this, and challenge unbelievers not to wait till someday, to get to know God.

There is the kind of living that revolves around self, and there is the kind of living that is centered in Christ.

For people who think they are mostly happy, they may be content to look no further for meaning in life; and they may continue in that pattern for years …

However … there is much more to life than revolving around self.
The Apostle John records the Words of Jesus …

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” – John 10:10

I do not smile all of the time, but I am able for the most part, to carry around in my heart, the Joy of the Lord!

That means when I wake up in the morning, I don’t have any rosy-colored glasses to reach for, but there is a garment of praise, which I am able to robe myself in, if I choose to use everything that is available to me, as a son of God.
It means that when I am afraid, I can pray to my Father in Heaven and He can make me strong in Him.

It means that when my mind is troubled with the concerns of this world, God’s Perfect Peace descends from Heaven, to rest on me and I am free to dwell in His serenity.

It means I actually have authority, as a child of God – if I choose to use it.

As Christians we have JOY, because God has graciously given us the free gift of eternal life for the future … and … Abundant Life for today!  At the resurrection of Jesus Christ, He won for us, once and for all, victory over sin and the grave.

As He called to Lazarus, He calls to us in our spiritual tombs … “Come out!”
Don’t sit at home and stew!                                                                         Get involved at Church, and watch God stretch your faith, as He also changes the seasons.  I’m looking forward to worshipping with you!

In Christ’s Love,
Pastor Michael
